China, the world's largest producer, is planting less and consuming more. Garlic plays a significant part in Chinese natural medicine so for it to be currently in strong demand as a major defence against swine flu is no surprise.

Unless garlic production is significantly increased, garlic prices will rise. China is the largest producer but also the largest consumer of garlic. Increases in garlic consumption by the Chinese have a more than disproportionate effect on world prices.

Grow your own garlic and protect yourself and your family. Our garlic prices currently remain the same so take advantage.

Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2009

The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight is proud to have been judged as "highly commended" in the 2009 Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2009.

A big thank you from The Garlic Farm to their judges Darth Naga, Dany Lamote and Karl from Scorchio.

Apart from our own entry, they must be commended for sampling over 70 different chilli products. Word has it that they got through a lot of milk and tissues.

2009 sees us with a great crop. Large Solent Wight Garlic which can keep until April next year.

We have seen one of our own records broken with the largest recorded Iberian Wight Bulb close to 90mm in diameter. Click Here

Albeit it a fairly wet winter, results from around the UK growing community have been outstanding.

Once again this year we see an increase of people taking a more pro-active role in growing their own produce & sourcing locally.

Coming Soon! A delicious Runner Bean pickle with Tarragon & Garlic.
