Farm Happenings

Most of the garlic has now been harvested with just some of the later planted Solent Wight remaining in the ground for another couple of weeks. This means we now have new season elephant garlic and a variety of other garlic types available to order online or purchase in the farm shop. In just a week or so the garlic will be dry enough for plaiting and grapping and our chief plaiter Gilles will be very busy braiding the garlic into those renowned plaits that hang in the kitchen for the next 9 months or so.

The farm is now a hive of activity with lots of visitors enjoying the farm walks, tractor trailer tours, garlic taste experience and dining in the restauarant (check opening times and view the summer menu). The farm makes for a great family day out and Kids are loving the garlic bread making workshops and hunting for the garlic fairies dotted around the farm.
