Cookware

Imported especially for The Garlic Farm from Germany , our fine range of craftsman made cookware that heightens the joy of cooking.

The hand cast aluminium pans and casseroles are suitable for both domestic and commercial use, have a triple ceramic surface and are suitable for gas, electric and halogen and solid fuel.

GARLIC FARM COOKWARE

The Garlic Farm Cookware is handmade in Germany, a high quality cast aluminium base, covered and fired three times with a titanium ceramic finish. It retains no garlic flavours so cook garlic one moment and milk the next and no flavours are transmitted. Cooking in these pans is a joy - nothing sticks to them when correctly used and perhaps most important of all you will cook at a lower temperature, retaining more goodness in your food and making the act of cooking more pleasurable for yourself.

How to use the cookware:

RECIPE & COOKING METHOD ( Download PDF )

Before first use:

Warm the pan on the hob (so the pan is warm to the touch). Add a drop of sunflower or vegetable oil on a paper towel and wipe over the whole inside surface of the pan. Turn the paper over and polish the pan leaving a sheen. Repeat the polishing twice more before using the pan. Reasons for polishing:

  1. To clean and sterilise the cooking surface
  2. To prepare the surface for use
  3. To protect the pan from carbon build up

Before routine use:

Take the clean pan and warm and polish once. You cannot season the pan by greasing or oiling it, you must polish the pan.

Cooking:

The pan will fry without oil. Food will not stick to the surface. If oil is needed any type may be used. These pans are outstanding in projecting and dissipating heat from the source to all parts of the pan. Nothing should stick making cooking easy but it is the heat transfer properties that distinguish them from all others. Whenever food touches the pan it is warmed and cooked evenly and steadily. The titanium ceramic surface of the pan ensures that no taint can be carried from one dish to the next – just polish between dishes. For boiling or baking in the pans or casseroles use as your existing pan or bowl. Don’t use metal utensils, use plastic or wooden ones. If you scratch the pan food may sick at the scratch.

After routine use:

If oil has been used and the pan is essentially clean, then just polish the pan with a paper towel. If it is necessary to wash the pan, any food residue should slide off the cooking surface. To disturb reluctant marks use a plastic bristle brush. Warm the pan and polish again before storing.

Safety:

Use the pan with care. Cooking involves high temperatures that will burn exposed skin. Your Garlic Farm cookware pan or casserole will operate within the oven to a temperature of 650f or 300c. The lid knob and pan will cope with maximum temperatures of 600f or 270c. Direct heat from a naked flame will damage the handle or lid knob. If you place a pan or casserole in the oven remember that from when you take it out of the oven the handle or knob will remain hot for at least 10 minutes.

Following these instructions, your cookware will last for many years.
