Autumn Planting Pack x 4 Bulbs

Seed Garlic for Autumn planting. This variety planting pack is a selection of 4 garlic types that, in our experience, grow best from Autumn planting - mid September through to mid December.

This pack contains:

Caulk Wight x 2 bulb: Allium Sativum ophioscorodon (Hardneck) - From the north of Bohemia, close to Prague. Creamy appearance with slightly purplish, large cloves. Tall, erect stem and leaves over metre high. This is the earliest Heritage hardneck to harvest and will keep well until February.

Extra Early Wight x 1 bulb: Allium Sativum Ophioscorodon (Hardneck) - large white hardneck, with a crisp fresh flavour.

Elephant Garlic x 3 cloves: Allium ampeloprasum: A fun member of the allium family, Elephant garlic can grow, with adequate water, to 150mm across and weigh over a kilo.

  • Growers Tips

The basics: Plant your garlic in an area which will receive maximum sunlight hours. Place the cloves 3 – 4cm below the surface, root down (pointy end up) 6 inches apart. Water your garlic during dry periods, stopping watering completely during the last few weeks. Harvest when the lower leaves start to yellow and fold.
