Allium sativum (Softneck) - A large white softneck garlic with purple streaks that can produce bulbs that approach Elephant Garlic size. Originating in the lush valleys of the Drôme in the north of Provence. Large fat cloves that suit vegetable & fish dishes of the Mediterranean. Like many Mediterranean types, responds to heavy watering in the 3 months before harvest. Spring planting is possible although will produce smaller bulbs. Sweet and substantial can keep up to January. Warm subtle flavours superb in Aioli.
