The Complete Garlic Farmer's Pack

With seven varieties, in depth growing instructions, fertiliser, row markers, recipes and hessian bag this pack will provide the avid grower with a wonderfully varied garlic crop with planting times from Autumn to Spring and harvesting from May to early August.

In this pack:
Carcassonne Wight x 1 bulb: Allium Sativum Ophioscorodon (hardneck) - Exceptional, pink cloved hardneck garlic showing great vigour in UK climate.
Caulk Wight x 1 bulb: Allium Sativum Ophioscorodon (hardneck) - Large cloved, easy peeling vigorous hardnecks, they grow particularly well in our relatively soft UK climate.
Solent Wight x 2 bulb: Allium Sativum (softneck) - The original Isle of Wight garlic, particularly well suited to our UK climate. Our best garlic in terms of overall eating and keeping quality.
Mersley Wightx 2 bulbs: Mersley Wight originates from the Auvergne in Central France across to the volcanic Drome in northern Provence.
Tuscany Wight x 2 bulb: Allium Sativum (softneck) - This large white garlic is a late type like Venetian & Solent Wight. A Spring planted softneck with good keeping quality and most significant of all, big fat cloves all the way through the bulb.
Iberian Wight x 2 bulb: Allium Sativum (softneck) - Large fat white garlic with purple stripes, origin in south west Spain. Purple when grown close to surface. Excellent all round garlic with large cloves..
Provence Wight x 2 bulb: Allium Sativum (softneck) - A large white softneck garlic with purple streaks that can produce bulbs that approach Elephant Garlic size. Spring planting is possible although will produce smaller bulbs.
Elephant Garlic x 12 cloves: Allium Ampeloprasum: A fun member of the allium family, Elephant garlic can grow, with adequate water, to 150mm across and weigh over a kilo. Occurring in the wild in parts of Western Europe and in the UK along the Cornish coast. Roast it and impress your friends. It has a warm mild garlic flavour but is increasingly popular with those who like to make a statement in their cooking. For orders dispatched after 19/11/20, you will receive Elephant Garlic Solo bulbs instead of cloves.

  • Growers Tips

The basics: Plant your garlic in an area which will receive maximum sunlight hours. Place the cloves 3 – 4cm below the surface, root down (pointy end up) 6 inches apart. Water your garlic during dry periods, stopping watering completely during the last few weeks. Harvest when the lower leaves start to yellow and fold.
